Gary Upton, Area Manager
As Area Manager, Gary Upton has the responsibility for overseeing 3 Embassy Suites Hotels located in the Pacific Northwest. He serves as the General Manager of one of those properties. Primary focus areas include revenue maximization, hotel profitability, brand standard compliance as well as guest and associate satisfaction.
Gary has over 35 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. He has an extensive background in managing upscale full service branded hotels and resorts throughout the western United States. GM assignments included new hotel openings for Marriott properties and managing Sheraton and Hilton branded hotels. Gary joined Windsor Capital Group in 2006 as the General Manager of the Embassy Suites Portland-Washington Square. He was promoted to the position of Area Manager for the Pacific Northwest in 2008.
Gary started his hospitality career as a young high school student. He served our country in Viet Nam and Cambodia and was honorably discharged from the US Army and returned to the hotel industry working his way up to management positions. He is experienced and diversified in all areas of full service upscale hotel and resort operations.
