Herman Turk, Regional Vice President
As Regional Vice President, Herman Turk has the responsibility for overseeing 10 hotels located in the Eastern United States. These hotels include the Renaissance, Embassy Suites, Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott brands. Primary focus areas include revenue maximization, hotel profitability, brand standard compliance as well as guest and associate satisfaction.
Herman has 29 years of experience in the Hospitality & Tourism industry. Accomplishments include "Resident Manager of the Year" award for Marriott hotels in 1984 as well as the "General Manager of the Year" award for Renaissance hotels in 2001. Herman currently serves on the board of directors for the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. He began his career at the Hotel Roanoke, and has served as General Manager for 15 years at the Marriott hotels in Roanoke, Virginia and Chattanooga, Tennessee as well as at the Renaissance hotel in Asheville, North Carolina. In May of 2006 he was promoted to the position of Regional Vice President for Windsor Capital Group.
Herman graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1979 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in Management and Marketing. He is married to Lynn Turk and has two sons, Brendan and Brian who attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and T.C. Roberson High school respectively. They are members of the Basilica of Saint Lawrence and have lived in Asheville for the past nine years.
